-Excellent divers- dove as a team.
-Known as cave divers who are known for in depth safety training.

Diver that Lost His Life

Steve Feldman, 44 from Manhattan, New York.

-A top prop man at CBS's TV studio.
-Diving for 10 years; became a dive instructor.
-Didn't own a car so had to use taxis to haul his scuba gear (200 Ibs).
-Wore a uniform of baseball cap, jeans & t-shirt.
-Favorite Quick Food- Cantonese Noodles with Peanut Sauce.
-Died while diving the U-Boat September 21, 1991.

Bio of Richie Kohler

Born 1962
Favorite Past Time: Reading, (National Geography), (Popular Mechanics), war histories and books about outer space
-Father took him diving when he was 11 and he was immediately interested.
  • Went to work for his father after high school in a glass factory.
  • Eventually founded a diving group and rallied behind it.
  • He became an Atlantic Wreck Diver.
  • Fall of 1991, he heard about the U-Boat discovery.
  • He worked to become part of the u-boat explorer team.
  • He spent many hours pouring over books to learn more to help the team.

1969: Joined the Army & worked in neurosurgical ward in Hospital in Alaska, and Japan
1970: Transferred to Chu Lai in S. Vietnam as a Medic
1973: Left the Army went to Florida
1978: Moved back to New England and became a fisherman
1981: Fishing had a bad year
1981: Decided to become a commercial diver
1985: Started diving on ship wrecks
1986: Joined Nagle on the Seeker for weekend dives
1991: Discovered the U-Boat
